A man travelled a distance of 60 km in 10 hours. He travelled partly on foot at 4 k/h and partly on bicycle at 9 k/h. The distance travelled on foot is:    

     (A) 24 km  

There are two jars. In the first jar, ratio of water to milk is 2 : 3 and in the second 3 : 4. If 20 lit mixture taken out from first jar and 28 lit taken out from the second jar and together mixed into a third jar. Then what is the ratio of milk to water in new mixture

In a mixture of 180 lit milk and 24 lit of water X lit of water is added. The ratio of milk and water becomes 6 : 1.

In an alloy, zinc and copper are in the ratio 1 : 2. In the second alloy, the same elements are in the ratio    2 : 3. In what ratio should the two alloys be mixed so that the resultant alloy contains zinc and copper in the ratio 5 : 8?

There is a mixture of milk and water of 200 litre. The ratio of milk to water is 5 : 3. If 40% of the mixture is taken out and same amount of water is added then find the new ratio of milk and water in the mixture.

Rs 7200 was invested partly in scheme 'I' for 6 years and partly in scheme 'M' for 2 years. Both the schemes offered simple interest at 12% per annum. The total interest accrued from 'I' and  'M' at the end of their respective investment period was 4800. How much was invested in scheme 'I'?
